Sport and good deeds share a profound value: the ability to unite people of all ages and from all backgrounds toward a common goal. This was also the setting of the Tenis pentru Fapte Bune tournament, a sporting event held in 2022, at its third edition.
Together we managed to build, from passion for sport, a bridge toward a better future for young people who, at 18, leave placement centres and are left alone, face to face, with life on their own.

Together with Eurosport Romania and Discovery Rise, and through the involvement of all our sponsors and partners, we turned the enthusiasm and passion for tennis into an engine of change for the better.

The tournament managed to gather donations and sponsorships totalling 35,000 euros. The funds are intended to support young people from vulnerable backgrounds, especially those in the child protection system, to continue their studies, to integrate into society and the labour market, so they do not risk ending up in human trafficking networks or other unfavourable contexts. The competition draw brought together 106 tennis players, who competed in singles matches (women's and men's) and doubles. They were watched and encouraged by over 400 spectators, over the three days of the tournament.

The competition is played on the court, but the victory is celebrated in the lives of the young people we support. The Tenis pentru Fapte Bune tournament aims to support young people who, after reaching adulthood, raised in placement centres, foster families or coming from vulnerable backgrounds, are forced to face the challenges of adult life. Without adequate emotional, educational or financial support, the transition is a difficult one, often felt like a labyrinth full of obstacles. Their dreams can remain voiceless in the face of countless challenges: increased risk of human trafficking, drug use and trafficking, the danger of ending up on the street for lack of shelter and a steady income, discrimination and marginalisation by society.

For almost a decade, the mission of The Social Incubator Association has been to reach as many young people as possible in such situations of risk and to offer them the support they need to build a better future. Since 2014, we have become the voice that makes their wishes heard and, together with your support, we manage to generate resources through which we turn their destinies into success stories. In 2022 we won an important match: we raised 35,000 euros through the Tenis pentru Fapte Bune tournament. All the funds raised during the third edition of Tenis pentru Fapte Bune were directed to supporting the “Tineri de Viitor” programme – the main programme of The Social Incubator Association, which aims, through direct and constant actions, to support institutionalised young people. The amount raised made an important contribution to achieving the objectives in 2022. Specifically, the amount was directed to supporting 140 young people through professional training courses (according to the specific needs and vocation of the young people), school supplies, medical services and, in addition:

A successful event is defined not only by its organisation, but also by the people who contribute to supporting a noble cause. We thank the partners, sponsors and everyone who supported us on this journey, turning the tournament into an opportunity to change hundreds of lives. During the 3rd edition of the Tenis pentru Fapte Bune tournament, we enjoyed the support of celebrities such as Horia Brenciu, Cornel Ilie, Andrei Pavel, and Horia Tecău, who chose to join the game in the name of change and to share with us the desire to give young people who have left the placement system a chance at a better future.

By our side were renowned athletes such as Vasile Maftei, Monica Roșu, Gabriela Ruse, Virgil Stănescu, Mihaela Buzărnescu and other well-known names from television such as Cosmin Cernat, Cristian Mîndru, Constantin Rudnițchi, Dragoș Suciu.

Through their participation and by choosing to become ambassadors, they not only played an active role in the running of the tournament, but also managed to bring to the attention of a wider community the situation of young people from vulnerable backgrounds and the need to support them. We are grateful for their generosity and solidarity. Together, we managed to show that, when we join forces, we can achieve great objectives.

Our achievements are more than numbers. They represent real and beneficial changes in the lives of hundreds of young people from vulnerable backgrounds or in situations of risk in Romania, with a direct and measurable positive impact. Over the 3 editions, we are glad that we managed to bring together over 500 players, spectators and volunteers in the #ArhitecțilordeFapteBune community of the most beloved charitable tennis tournament.

The 2022 edition of the Tenis pentru Fapte Bune tournament managed to masterfully weave the sporting spirit together with the social mission, proving that together we can make a difference. After three days of intense competition and significant achievements, we look forward to meeting at the fourth edition in 2023.

Tenis pentru Fapte Bune is not just a competition, but a lesson in life and in active involvement for the good of others. Alongside us, each participant became an agent of change and a supporter of the young people who need help the most.
