Important notes

  1. The organizer reserves the right to make additions and/or changes to these Rules, intended to lead to a better running of the event, at any time, by notifying the players and the teams.
  2. Eligibility:
    • Professional players or former professional players active in the last 5 years may not participate. A professional player means any person who has taken part in professional tournaments or appears in official rankings (e.g. ATP, WTA, ITF, etc.), according to the definition in the Physical Education and Sport Law no. 69/2000.
    • According to the Physical Education and Sport Law no. 69/2000 (as amended), the official definition is as follows: a “professional athlete” is a person who practices sport in an organized manner, concluding an employment contract or a sports activity contract with a sports structure, thus obtaining material or monetary income from their sporting activity.
    • In the context of tennis, this means: they have signed a contract involving financial or material compensation (for example, salary, competitive stipend, direct sponsorships related to the activity) and have thus taken part in a structured and official way in professional tournaments or teams.
    • Active tennis coaches may not participate, regardless of their level or certification.
  3. Participant selection: Registration is preliminary and does not automatically guarantee participation in the tournament. The organizers reserve the right to make a final selection of participants based on the eligibility criteria and the amateur purpose of the competition.
  4. Matches are played without a chair umpire, so players will keep the score and referee themselves. Any disagreements will be resolved by the section referee provided by the organizer.
  5. Players fully understand the risks of practicing sport and the possible occurrence of injuries, and assume full responsibility for their state of health. On this occasion, the organizer informs participants of the need to undergo a medical check-up before entering the competition, attesting that the player is fit for physical effort. The risk of not carrying out this check-up rests entirely with the players. By registering, players consent that, in the event of an unwanted incident occurring during the competition or during a match, they will not file any complaint or claim against the organizer.
